Hvönn Restaurant offers experimental cuisine with an emphasis on local Icelandic ingredients. We source fresh meat, fish and vegetables from the surrounding countryside and change our menu according to the seasons and availability of exciting ingredients.

Hotel Skálholt
Hotel Skálholt offers 18 double rooms, all equipped with two single beds and a private bathroom. Two hot tubs on the terrace with beautiful views.
Skálholt Cottage
Klettabúð and Árnesingabúð are two-bedroom cottages with great views of Skálholt and the surrounding mountains.
The cottages can accommodate up to 4 adults in 2 bedrooms.
Skálholtsbúðir
Skálholtsbúðir is the perfect place for up to 21 people. Great for a variety of groups, families, choirs, workplaces and more. The house has 11 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, living room, dining room, banquet and meeting room.
The Organist's House
The Organist House is a cozy 3-bedroom house that can accommodate up to 6 guests. Each bedroom has two single beds that can be arranged together as a double or used as two single beds.

Bjarki Þór Ingigerður Sólmundsson and Gunnhildur Helga Gunnarsdóttir took over Hotel Skálholt and Hvönn restaurant in 2021 and have built a magnificent hotel and restaurant in Skálholt.
The emphasis is on a unique dining experience where local ingredients play a key role. Along with comfortable accommodation in one of the most beautiful places in the country. Bjarki has a good reputation for designing banquets, and together they place great emphasis on warm and personal service in this historic place.
